Training response disclaimer;

BASIC TRAINING;

We train the puppy/adult dog to the specifications provided, or requested. We teach you how to work with your trained dog. Yet, the way you communicate with your puppy/dog can vary which can vary the outcome of how the puppy/dog reacts to you. An Australian Shepherd is also a very bonding dog. We will teach you how to create this bond. Yet, the bond you offer will vary the way your puppy/dog responds to your commands.

POTTY TRAINING;

We train the puppy/dog to not potty in the home, or facility. The puppy/dog is trained to potty outside only. Yet, when your puppy/dog is taken home by you, you must offer options to the outside. Puppies under six months of age must have the potty training process continued when introduced to a new environment. The puppy under six months of age will still need to be taken outside periodically throughout the day to go potty as their bladders are small and they are not familiar with the layout of their new home.

TRAINING UNDERSTOOD;

We as trainers do our best to give the puppy/dog the best understanding of what we ask of them. We as the breeder and trainer work with the puppy/dog to help them feel confident and comfortable in all training and situations.

Yet, when you take your puppy/dog home, they still need you to offer that understanding, comfort and confidence.

They need to be introduced to new people, animals, noises and other things at their pace. You cannot over stimulate, or over socialize them when they go to their new environment. Over socializing your new puppy/dog can cause them to be reactive/nervous.

Puppies/dogs who have been fully trained and desensitized can still become untrained, or sensitized to situations or things thru the new owner.

 Example: Puppies/dogs hear and feel your emotions and react to them. If a puppy/dog thinks that you are upset about a situation, they will think that situation is something to be concerned about.

For instance, you are walking your new puppy/dog along the sidewalk. Another dog comes walking by you and lunges at your puppy/dog. You tighten up your leash, jump to the side and pull your puppy/dog with you to keep them from getting bit. You have now just taught your puppy/dog to be reactive to other dogs. Now, this is a typical human response, as your first reaction is to get your dog away from the other dog. Yet, you have to understand that your dogs thought process goes like this.. " The dog that just passed me just tried to bite at me. My owner got nervous and jumped away. So, that must mean that other dogs are something to be concerned about. Next time I see another dog I'm going to growl at it to keep it away." You have now created a reactive, nervous dog.

This is just one example out of many.  This is an example to help you understand that although the puppy, while in our care, has been offered the best training, socialization and desensitization we can offer, it is still up to you to follow thru with proper care and cues for the best outcome for you and your puppy/dog.
